The Slough Senior Citizens Group is proud to put together such a website for those within the local community of Slough and surrounding
areas. A website to present and pass on information key to members and non members with easy to use access and visibility.

About Us

	The initial steps were taken for formation of the Slough Senior Citizens Group in July 2005. On 19th January 2006, the Slough Senior Citizens Group was launched as a community group, in the presence of the Mayor of Slough, Cllr. Latif Khan and other dignitaries. Our Constitution can be found here

We

• are a Group of Senior Citizens who wish to meet and enjoy friendship and fellowship in an environment of easy informality
• have members from diverse backgrounds - all communities and nationalities
• speak different languages, belong to both sexes and enjoy the general goodwill of society
• wish to share our experiences and information on healthy living to help our members develop a stress free lifestyle
• share information about Health, Happiness and Well-Being, Relaxation Techniques, Smoking Cessation, Drug & Alcohol Abuse
• discuss Contemporary Social & Welfare issues confronting Senior Citizens
• explore new ways to a happy and healthy living through Workshops and Lecture Sessions; Trips/Outings; Social Events

During 2006, our project was Healthy Living for Senior Citizens, which we propose to continue. We had workshops and discussions on
Diabetes; Blood Pressure; Health and Happiness; Healthy Mind and Healthy Body for Fitness Beyond Age; Prevention of Stroke by Health Professionals

Our Constitution was approved and an Executive Committee was elected at the AGM in October 2006
